Rebolt
Golden Bay

Many of the routes here were bolted in the 1990s and early 2000s, and the hardware is wearing out. A few local volunteers are replacing it, route by route. Your donation buys the stainless and the glue.

What it costs

All the work is done by volunteers. Aspiring Safety supplies a lot of the hardware at a discount.

The Tūpiki Trust has approved $21,000 for hardware.

That's about what we've raised and spent on stainless and glue over the last couple of years, and we're only a fraction of the way through the list. Individual donations still matter. Showing we can raise money ourselves helps every future funding application.

  1. Nearly every anchor at Cathedral Wall, all of Shotgun Therapy Buttress and most of Seagrass Wall. Stella Blue and Black Marigolds rebolted, and a 15 kg loose block removed.

  2. New anchors on Creese Wall. Lower Tenuite, Why Wall and Bo Peep at Pōhara. Ring bolts on Electricorp, Send a Gorilla and Powerline.

  3. Cathedral, Palmer Wafer, Cosmic Wonder Crunch and Why Wall, plus practice anchors.

  4. Winter at the south end of the crag, on tracks 5 and 6.
